Luis Alberto Duran, 41yr., resident of San Marcos,Texas, passed away October 16, 2021 in San Marcos, Tx

LaMarr M. Petersen kicked the bucket on October 21, 2021. He is survived by his loving daughter Shauna (Tom) Brace; granddaughters Alysha (Josh) Packard and Britny (Sam) Walker; great grandchildren Eva, Eli, Keira and Henry; and many nieces and nephews. Additionally, he leaves behind many fantastic neighbors and friends. LaMarr is preceded in death by the love of his life Jean; Sons Ken and Curtis; siblings Glade Petersen and Janice Coon; and niece Cindy Campbell. Celebration of Life has not been scheduled at this time.

Pablo “Paul” Luera, Jr., of Martindale passed away on October 19, 2021, at the age of 73 surrounded by his family. He was born on April 30, 1948 in Kyle, TX, to Pablo Luera and Antonia Hernandez Luera.

My journey this week returns to a column I wrote on July 26, 2020, where I introduced the subject of keeping a journal with emphasis on the pandemic. Fast forwarding to today, we are still dealing with the pandemic. I want to suggest again that everyone record their life stories in log or diary format. Journaling is a personal record of occurrences, experiences and reflections kept on a regular basis. If one will record life-force events, before memories fade or are forgotten, through the craft of writing, a record of your values and priorities will be produced.

Michael (Mike) Lee Pearce, 71, of San Marcos, TX died on October 13, 2021. Mike grew up living all around the United States, and even briefly Ireland, but settled in Texas in 1982 and loved it here. He worked as a deli manager, an office manager for his wife’s practice, and with computers, but also spent many years being a stay-at-home dad. He loved going out to eat, talking to friends and strangers, making puns, church, and going places. He was very handy around the house but not great at finishing projects. He had less than no interest in sports, hated ads on the television, and never wore the color blue.
