Dora M. Velasquez

Our beloved Dora M. Velasquez, age 63, of San Marcos was called home by our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. She was born on October 28, 1957, to the late Andres Munoz, Sr. and Augustina Munoz. Dora married the love of her life, Domingo Velasquez, Sr. on March 6, 1976, and they spent 45 amazing years together.

Our beloved Dora M. Velasquez, age 63, of San Marcos was called home by our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. She was born on October 28, 1957, to the late Andres Munoz, Sr. and Augustina Munoz. Dora married the love of her life, Domingo Velasquez, Sr. on March 6, 1976, and they spent 45 amazing years together.

All were welcome in Dora’s home. She treated everyone like family and expressed her love for you through her cooking. Dora always had a smile and a laugh that was infectious.

Dora is preceded in death by her loving parents. Dora is survived by her husband, Domingo Velasquez, Sr.; her sons, Domingo Velasquez, Jr. and wife Sofia; Rene Velasquez and wife Iris; Anthony Velasquez and wife Crystal; her daughter, Veronica Velasquez and wife Ashley; and by her grandchildren, Elias, Jacob, Jocelyn, Andrew, Devin, Ellianna, and Jacynda Velasquez. Dora is also survived by her siblings, Ignacio (Carolina) Munoz, Sr., Paz (Daniel) Garza, Theodora (Alfonso) Sanchez Salas, Andres (Thomasa) Munoz, Jr., Rachel (Billy Joe) Romero, Johnny (Mary) Munoz, Angelita (Oscar) DeLeon, and many more loving family and friends. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever be cherished by all those who knew her.

Serving as pallbearers are Domingo Velasquez, Jr., Rene Velasquez, Anthony Velasquez, Johnny Munoz, Andres Munoz, Jr. and Ignacio Munoz, Sr.

Visitation will take place at Thomason Funeral Home in San Marcos on Monday, October 18 from 4 to 8 pm, with a recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 19 at 10 am at St. John’s Catholic Church in San Marcos, followed by interment at Memory Lawn Memorial Park.
