Texas State snapped their four game losing streak as the Bobcats captured a critical road win over the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers 52-49.

In one of the biggest wins of the season, the Texas State Bobcats stunned the Sun Belt Conference leading App State Mountaineers 63-56 to extend their winning streak three games.

With that in mind, and after much consideration of a single- use beverage container ordinance that includes stipulations on cooler size, and public comments in support of the idea, the San Marcos City Council voted six to zero with one absent in support of the proposed ordinance on the first of two readings. The ordinance uses 'go' and 'no go' zones in certain parks to allow for the use of single-use containers in sections of the park while keeping them out of the river. In the previous meeting in which it was on the agenda on Jan. 16, council provided direction to staff as to what the specifics of the ordinance would entail.

A federal judge has ordered Caldwell County to hold public bail hearings in a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of officials there allowing only people arrested and on-duty magistrates to attend such proceedings.

The discussion is expected to include the dispute between the Hays Trinity Groundwater Conservation District and Aqua Texas, the company that provides water to customers in Wimberley, Woodcreek and other communities in Hays County.
