Freshman Chris Preddie, who posted this season’s third-best long jump in the country at last week’s Charles Austin Classic, was named the Sun Belt Conference Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for the period ending March 26, the conference office announced.
San Marcos captured their fifth straight win as the Rattlers defeated the Converse Judson Rockets 12-1.
San Marcos snapped a three game losing streak with a late home run in the seventh inning as the Rattlers topped the East Central Hornets 2-1.
Britney Webb is a former San Marcos High School trainer before transitioning into her role as a senior lecturer at the Texas State’s Athletic Training Division. Webb is currently serving on the Texas Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers.

The official proclamation made by Texas Governor Greg Abbott declaring that the month of March will be recognized as Athletic Training Month. 2023 marks 50 years of athletic trainers being licensed as health professionals. The goal of the proclamation is to recognize and help further the progress athletic trainers have made in their goal of caring for student athletes.

Texas State men’s golf won the team title at the Craft Farms Intercollegiate finishing three-under and never dropping out of the top spot. This is the second team championship for the Bobcats this season.
Texas State split Saturday's doubleheader at Coastal Carolina to salvage the road series. The Chanticleers took game one 13-6 and the Bobcats claimed the nightcap 10-8 to earn their first-ever win at Springs Brooks Stadium.
