Bobcats defeat South Alabama for Senior Day

In the final home game of the season, the Texas State Bobcats defeated the South Alabama Jaguars 77-57 After a tough 58-54 loss to James Madison on Thursday night, graduate senior Kennedy Taylor wasn’t thinking about the defeat but rather ways the Bobcats can improve themselves.

Texas State tops Coastal Carolina for road win

A back and forth affair saw the Texas State men’s basketball team (13-16, 6-10 Sun Belt) pull out a 78-75 win over Coastal Carolina (11-17, 5-11 Sun Belt) in the HTC Center on Saturday afternoon. The victory keeps the Bobcats’ hopes alive to claim a bye for the first round of the tournament.

Texas State defeats SFA

Despite losing the doubles point early in the match, Texas State (2-5) came back to defeat Stephen F. Austin (2-4) 6-1 and swept all six singles matches on Sunday, Feb. 19 at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.

Texas State Bobcats split first two games of I-35 Invitational with Lamar Cardinals

It was a tale of two games for Texas State at the I-35 Invitational as the Bobcats blew out the Lamar Cardinals 9-0 on Thursday and lost to the South Dakota State Jackrabbits on Friday 2-0.

Three Rattler wrestlers look to medal at state tournament

Top left, Kaylynn Martin pins her opponent from Round Rock McNeil to advance in the Region IV Tournament. Martin finished in the third place to advance to the UIL State Wrestling Tournament for the third time in her career where she is a two-time state placer. Martin enters the tournament with 26-3 record. Top right, Jesyka Banda pins her opponent from San Antonio Reagan to pull off the upset and advance to the Region IV final in the 100-pound weight class. Banda has advanced to the regionals four times in her career. Banda is a three-time state qualifier looking to win her first state medal. Banda enters the tournament with a 40-2 record. Bottom left, Anisa Moreno pins her opponent from Schertz Clemens during the opening round of the Region IV tournament. Moreno went on to win in the 145-pound weight class. Moreno is a three-time state qualifier with a record of 34-3. (

Texas State golfer takes second in Hal Williams Collegiate

Kasper Nyland opened the spring season with a 2nd place finish shooting 10-under par at the Hal Williams Collegiate, his top finish of his collegiate-career. Texas State finished ninth among 15 teams at the Magnolia Grove Crossing Golf Course on Tuesday.
