Rattlers win third straight in five sets

The Rattlers won their third straight game of the season as San Marcos defeated Hutto 3-2 in a fiveset thriller.

San Marcos improves their record to 5-5 overall.

The Rattlers will be back home for the first time all season with San Marcos hosting the Ragin’ Rattler Tournament.

The tournament will feature 13 teams split across three pools. The Rattlers will be placed in Pool C along with the Humble Kingwood Park Panthers, the Celina Bobcats, the New Braunfels Long Creek Dragons and the Austin LASA Raptors.

The winners of Pool A and Pool C along with the second place finisher of Pool B will be placed into Pool D while the second place finishers in Pool A and Pool C and the champions of Pool B. will be placed in Pool E.

The winners of Pool D and Pool E will faceoff for the championship on Saturday at 1 p.m.

San Marcos will start pool play against LASA Thursday at 2 p.m. followed by a 3 p.m. game against Celina.

The Rattlers will resume play at 6 p.m. against Long Creek before a 7 p.m. game against Kingwood Park.

On Friday, San Marcos will play their first official home game of the season against the Odessa Bronchos in a non-tournament game. Tip-off is currently scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
