Bobcats players added to more preseason watch lists

Several more Bobcat football players were named to the pre-season awards watch list for the 2024 season.

Defensive end Ben Bell was named to the Chuck Bednarik Award preseason watch list, which is given to the most outstanding defensive player in college football.

Bell made 57 total tackles, 32 solo tackles and 10 sacks for the Bobcats last year.

Adding to his accolades is quarterback Jordan McCloud, who was named to the Davey O’Brien preseason watch list. The O’Brien award is given to the best quarterback in college football. McCloud was also named to the Walter Camp and Maxwell award watch lists.

Wide receiver Joey Hobert was named to the Biletnikoff Award list, which is given to the best wide receiver in college football. Hobert caught 76 passes for 895 yards and eight touchdowns for the Bobcats last season.

Running back Lincoln Pare was named to the College Sports Communicators watch list for the 2024 Comeback Player of the Year. Pare was the Bobcats leading rusher during the 2022 season before missing the entire 2023 season with a season-ending knee injury.
