91. He was born in Motley County, Texas, on November 1, 1928. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He served 20 years in the United States Air Force, during which time he was stationed in Turkey, Panama, Alaska and Germany. He was a devout Christian with a jovial personality who was well liked by everyone. He enjoyed old movies as well as gardening.

He met his beloved wife, Barbara, at La Vista Assisted Living after a bingo game in early fall, 2009, and after a whirlwind courtship they were married on December 27, 2009.

Paul will be remembered lovingly by his wife, Barbara Jean Welcher, daughters Debbie Jackson and Denise Lieber, brother Dean Banks, as well as two grandchildren.

Family will receive visitors on Monday, November 25, 2019, beginning at 9 a.m. at Open Door Baptist Church, 3800 TX 123, San Marcos, Texas. Funeral Service will follow at 10 a.m. Committal Service at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at 9:15 a.m.
