Esmeralda “Meme” Peña Tristan
Esmeralda “Meme” Peña Tristan
Esmeralda was born in Odessa, TX on July 19th, 1961 to Emiliano and Rosario Peña and passed on June 19th, 2019 in San Antonio, TX. She happily lived alongside both her beloved husband, Carlos Tristan (Sr), and her only child, Carlos Peña Tristan Jr. She was accompanied in life by her loving family, friends and the San Marcos, TX community.
Meme was best known for her unforgettable, strong and iconic personality. She was the proudest, loudest and most caring redhead known to everyone she crossed paths with. Meme was also known as the “life of the party” everywhere she went, as she strode through her community, ready to lend a hand in every which way she could to those she met. She never failed to share how proud she was of her “Texas State Bobcat” son and her discount (couponing) hacks in her spare time to everyone on her Facebook page as she sat beside herequally witty and loving husband in their welcoming home. Meme also never missed any of her daily Whataburger “get togethers” with her crazy, loving friends, where she built the most unbreakable bonds.
Meme refused to be taken down easily by her battle with Cancer, and with the help of her loving sisters, brother, parents and nieces in San Antonio, TX, she fought long and hard. Everyone and anyone who was lucky enough to meet this glorious woman, will dearly miss her bubble gum lipstick wearing, beautiful and contagious smile.
