Melinda Hinz
Melinda Hinz, longtime resident of San Marcos, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home on June 21, 2019, after a long fought battle with cancer. She remained strong in mind and spirit to the end, never complaining. She is survived by her husband, Mike Hinz, to whom she was married for 42 years, her son, Travis Hinz, her daughter, Callie Burton and her husband Billy Burton, grandchildren, Brayden, Micah, and Ella Burton, and her brother, Chad Neff.
Melinda was born on March 3, 1953 in Baytown, TX, to Erma Lee Bodine Neff and Charles Addison Neff, Jr. She spent her early years in Austin, TX, and graduated from Reagan High School. She moved to San Marcos in 1971, later receiving a degree in Education from Southwest Texas State University.
She will be lovingly remembered by the countless young children that she taught at Wonderland School, First Baptist Church, Solid Rock Church, and Redwood Baptist Church over a span of 40 years. Her kind-hearted, generous spirit will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Memorial services are pending at Solid Rock Church.
