Mary Gail Ratchford, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on November 26, 1940, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Winnifred and Ralph Marotta, she lived a long life filled with love, humor, and dedication to her family. Mary Gail married Jesse Ratchford in May of 1964 who preceded her in death. Mary Gail treasured her five children and every child she met. She was compassionate, silly, generous, the life of the party and loved a good garage sale. In addition to her role as a devoted mother, Mary Gail was an avid reader. She loved dabbling in the medical field & aiding the health of others. She insisted she must have been a doctor in a previous life, constantly diagnosing and offering her medical expertise to family, friends and sometimes strangers. Her family was her greatest joy and she poured her heart into raising them. Mary Gail is survived by her children, David (Linda), Gary (Darren), Jim, Glen (Delma), Cheryl (Eric), and her grandchildren, Jourdan, Courtney, DJ, Emily, Wesley, Graham and great grandchildren, Ali and Avery. Mary Gail’s spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. Her contagious laughter and motherly wisdom will be missed by all who knew her.
