Albert Anthony Garcia August 18, 1952 May 26, 2024
He is preceded in death by his father Joe Garcia and his mother Eva Escobar Garcia.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Debbie, a son, William and a daughter, Sara. Albert has three grandchildren: William, Abrielle, and Amberlyn. He is also survived by his sisters Mimi Gamez and Aggie Garcia-Wright, brothers Arnold and Adrian Garcia, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Albert graduated from Lockhart High School in 1971 where he enjoyed participating in band and music classes. He joined the Texas National Guard soon after and served for four years.
Albert moved to Virginia and began college where he met his soonto- be wife, Debbie. He and Debbie moved back to Texas to start their family, and Albert went to work at Gary Job Corps. During his 30-year career with Job Corps he worked in various areas focusing on career training and education; he also attended Southwest Texas State University for seven years during this time. When his battle with Parkinsons forced him to alter his career path, he worked for an additional 12 years at the local Food Bank before he could not work any longer. Albert had a way with those in need and had a huge volunteer base for continued employment, his purpose.
Albert loved jazz music and fishing. He was a master griller and avid sports fan. He had a smile that could light up the room.
He will be sorely missed. His joy is now walking with the Lord, once again able to talk and walk without struggle.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations in Albert's name to the Southside Community Center or Jackson Chapel.
