'Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.' (Isaiah 41:10) was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 6, 2024, at the age of thirty-nine (39) years. She was born in San Marcos, Texas, but resided in Kyle, Texas, at the time of her death. She lived and attended schools in San Marcos and New Braunfels while growing up. She graduated from Canyon High School in 2002 (one year early). After graduation, she continued her education at Austin Community College in San Marcos. Jaime attended Grace Lutheran Church in San Marcos, and was baptized there as a child. She renewed her faith and was baptized as an adult at Promiseland Church in San Marcos.
Jaime was known for her beautiful smile, infectious laughter, and vibrant spirit. She loved her family and generously served those around her. She loved to cook and was always ready to offer assistance if needed. Jaime had an incredible sense of humor and constantly kept us laughing. She was particularly devoted to her 4-year-old niece, Langley, and loved playing and taking care of her. Bath times were a blast! She was an avid animal lover and adored her cat, Pretty, who is missing her greatly.
Jaime is survived by many loving family members, including her parents, Kathy Gilland of Kyle and Rick Gilland of Bastrop; her brother, Aaron Gilland of Buda; her sister, Taryn Gilland of Kyle; her maternal grandmother, Tommye Becker of San Marcos; her paternal grandmother, Joyce Thompson of New Braunfels; her niece, Langley Gilland of Buda/ Lockhart; her cat, Pretty, of Kyle; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
