A Celebration of Myrnell’s Life will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church San Marcos, with Family and Friends. On November 3, 1943, Cleoda Myrnell Turner was born in Clovis, New Mexico, to Hubert Corzine and Pauline Fox. She married Terry Hugh Turner, in 1963 and they shared 52 years of life and laughter together. Making their home in Portales, New Mexico, they welcomed their oldest daughter, Deana, into the world. Later, they moved to Tucumcari, New Mexico where Misty and Bryon were born. Soon after, the family made their home in Roswell, New Mexico. Myrnell was a wonderful MOTHER and GRANNY and made it her lifelong goal to serve God. During her early years in Portales, she was involved in square dancing, riding horses, and rodeo activities. She was a true horse lover. Her love of horses continued throughout her life as evidenced by her home decorating theme, which included carousels, horse figurines, and spurs. She was a lover of the rodeo, so much so, she subscribed to the rodeo channel so she could watch live rodeos from around the country 24/7. Myrnell made her living as a Cosmetologist. She learned this trade from her aunt and practiced for over 50 years in several shops throughout New Mexico. Myrnell also spent many years at Roswell Dragway, and was known as the “biggest cheerleader” watching her family and friends race. She loved visiting and hanging out with the crew at the track. In 2019 Myrnell moved from Roswell, New Mexico to San Marcos, Texas with Bryon and Amy Turner, where she made her home. Myrnell, also lovingly known as Granny to most, will be missed greatly by her family. Preceding Myrnell in death were her parents, father, Hubert Corzine; mother, Pauline Carter; husband Terry Turner; daughter, Deana Ragsdale; brothers Alfred Corzine, Jerry Carter.
