David Raymond Brink October 12, 1945 February 27, 2024

David Raymond Brink

, beloved husband and soulmate of Jeanie Dawn Coltrin Brink, loving father of Chad David Brink who preceded David in death, and Lisa Ann of San Antonio, devoted grandfather of Emily Ann of San Antonio, and great-grandfather of Evelynn Rose and Elijah Matthew, passed on to live in God’s house on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. He is also survived by two sisters, Lana King and Sylvia Brink. David was born in Castroville, TX on October 12, 1945. He was the only son of Reverend Raymond & Bernice Brink.

David was a preacher’s kid, full of vim and vinegar, but always with a kind and gentle heart. He served his country in the Coast Guard from 1966--1969. He served Corpus Christi, TX as a police officer for 31 years, where he attained the rank of lieutenant. He was married to Anne Cadden in 1968 and they later dissolved the union; however, they were blessed with two children, Lisa Ann born 1/11/71 and Chad David born 3/23/73. Chad passed on to God’s house on November 6, 1988. We know David is wonderfully happy to see Chad again as David missed him very much. On November 22, 1988, David gave his heart in marriage to his friend and soulmate, Jeanie Dawn Coltrin Brink. This union was blessed through daughter Lisa, with a beautiful granddaughter, Emily Ann born January 2, 1997, and two great-grandchildren, Evelynn Rose and Elijah Matthew. Besides Jesus; Jeanie, Lisa, and Emily were David’s main loves in life, although fishing, hunting, and traveling ran neck & neck. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in San Marcos. He attended the Walk to Emmaus in March 2003 and there deepened his love of Christ.

David loved God, his family, his friends, his country, and his life. His kind heart and rich sense of humor touched all who knew him.

He will be greatly missed by many, but God’s house will be brighter because of his light. We love him and look forward to seeing him again.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in memory of to First United Methodist Church, 129 W. Hutchison St. San Marcos, TX 78666. Guestbook available at www.penningtonfuneralhome. com.
