She is survived by her daughters; Sarah Noteboom, Mary Beth Braun and husband Richard and their children, Hunter and Casey, Kate Spell and husband Mike, and their children Maggie and Jack; her son Alan Cummings and wife Jennifer and their children, Belle and Kellee; her sister, Patty McCollum and husband Robert; and by her extended family, including Ruth Ann Hobbs and her sisters Leone’ Gruter and Margaret (and Chuck) Gieck and their families; and Mary’s lifelong best friend, Janet Wisian.
Sally loved animals. She especially loved her childhood horse, Bootsie, her white dove, Floyd, her be loved dogs, Charmin, Betsy, Gracie and Brownie, that lived with her in San Marcos.
As many people in the San Marcos area know, Sally was an accomplished artist who painted beautiful paintings of her world around her. She enjoyed capturing the beauty of the Texas hill country and rivers. Sally often donated her paintings to the San Marcos River Foundation, where they were given as year-end awards.
Included are words written by Sally: “Ernest and I devoted ourselves to raising our children. We are grateful for the life we have been given and for our children and grandchildren.”
