Fran excelled in school and was valedictorian of her graduating class at Pine Tree Highschool in Pinetree, Texas (now Longview); as well as valedictorian of her class at North Texas State University where she earned her Master of Education. She taught for over 30 years. She married Charles McMullen in June, 1946, and they were married for 58 years until his death in 2004. They lived in Houston until his retirement, when they moved to Hilltop Lakes, Texas where they resided for many years and were members of Hilltop Lakes Chapel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles H. McMullen, Jr., her daughter Suzanne York, as well as two brothers and one sister.

She will be remembered by her son Randy McMullen Sr. and wife Blanche, grandchildren Michael John McMullen, Randy McMullen Jr., Julie Bolduc and Christopher York, as well as 6 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at Hopewell Cemetery in Normangee, Texas.
