Charles Gordon
Charles was born in Fulshear, TX to K.G. (George) Gordon and Bernice Petty Gordon on October 31, 1949.
Charles graduated from Lamar Consolidate High School in Rosenberg, TX in May 1968. He resumed his education by attending Southwest Business College. Shortly thereafter he was drafted into the U. S. Army. While serving in the Vietnam War he was awarded the National Defense Services Medal, Vietnam
Services Medal with a Bronze Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 devices, 2 Overseas Bars, Army Commendation Medal, and the Purple Heart. He later took a job at 20th Century Tools where he met his wife Melonee Faye Horton. Charles followed the company to San Marcos, TX in 1982 and he remained for 39 years.
Charles leaves to cherish his memory: Wife, Melonee HortonGordon, daughters, Tominia Horton – Magee (Omar Magee)and Deronda Simpson, son, Joseph Horton (Ruth), four brothers, Larry Gordon (Marie), George Gordon ( Josette), Morris Gordon
(Herline), and Glen Gordon, two sisters, Vera Smiley and Katy Gordon, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of uncles, aunties, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Services for Charles was held at National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 7703.
Charles was loved by all, and will be missed very much.
