Hays County GOP Primary Sheriff Candidate forum to take place in Dripping Springs

Friday, January 10, 2020

The North Hays Republican Group will host a “Hays County Sheriff’s Office GOP Candidate Forum,” on Sunday Jan. 12 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Church of the Springs, 230 Sports Park Rd., in Dripping Springs.

The forum will feature incumbent Sheriff Gary Cutler and primary challenger Deputy Constable David Graham. A.J. Bergeron of Dripping Springs will moderate the forum.

“It’s hard to think of an elected office that has more impact on the everyday lives of area residents than law enforcement,” North Hays Republican Group President Suzanne Pacheco said. “This is a great opportunity to meet the candidates. The record growth of Dripping Springs has led to more and more discussion about traffic safety and crime, especially along the Highway 290 corridor.”

Pacheco encourages undecided GOP primary voters to attend.  “The intended audience for this forum is Republicans and swing voters who will vote in the GOP primary — especially people who have not met the candidates or are undecided on who to vote for,” Pacheco said.  For more information about the forum, email suzanne@northhaysgop.org or follow northhaysgop.org.

The Republican and Democrat primaries are on Mar. 3, with early voting starting on Feb. 18.  The last day to register to vote in the primaries is Feb. 3.  Primary winners earn a place in the November 2020 general election ballot. For more election information, visit Hays County's website.
