Wonder World Cave and Adventure Park, Mermaid Society of Texas, and Keme’s BBQ & Soul Food announced a new partnership Thursday morning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce.

“I am truly overwhelmed with the community and the chamber of commerce’s support toward our tri-partnership between Wonder World, The Mermaid Society and Keme’s BBQ,” said.

Kristin Williams, owner and operator of Wonder World Cave and Adventure Park. “We are a diverse group of women collaborating on a common vision to create a space at the park and through community events for people to enjoy for many more years to come.”

The ceremony was held at Wonder World Cave and Adventure Park which also houses the Mermaid Society’s headquarters and starting September 6th will also be the new location of Keme’s BBQ.

“The reason I’m so excited about this partnership is because it embodies everything I believe in and stand for; community at its fullest and finest,” said Ramika Adams co-owner of Keme’s BBQ. “Wonderful things happen when we come together for the greater good which is growing San Marcos local businesses and personal growth. No one can carry out the mission alone.”

The trio also announced Local Fridays, a play on the Spanish word Loca, to be hosted throughout the fall. These events aim to bring in the local San Marcos Community for a night of food and fun. The focus will be on local music, arts and crafts and more! Details regarding these events will be announced soon. This is just one of many ways the trio hopes to serve the community.

“Kristin and I are like-minded and share the same passion for community and hold so many of the same memories of San Marcos as it once was,” said July Moreno, founder and executive

director of the Mermaid Society of Texas. “We are dedicated to preserving and celebrating the things that are ‘Uniquely San Marcos!’ I’m excited to see all the ideas we’ve dreamt up for the park come to fruition.”
