Jason Giulietti has left the Greater San Marcos Partnership.
Giulietti has been the president and CEO of the GSMP since he was named the interim for the position in the fall of 2019. Following a nationwide search, Giulietti the interim title was removed in February of 2020.
According to a statement from the partnership, Giulietti’s “departure” from the GSMP was effective May 24.
“During his time with the nonprofit, Jason elevated and advanced the business profile of the organization,” the statement said. “The GSMP Board of Directors thanks Jason for his leadership and wishes him well.”
A message left for Giulietti by the San Marcos Daily Record was not immediately returned.
The Greater San Marcos Partnership is the 501(c)6 nonprofit regional economic development organization that serves Hays and Caldwell Counties.
Will Conley will serve as the interim president of the organization. The statement said that Conley “is not eligible, nor interested, in the permanent position.”
“I am humbled that leadership asked me to lead them through this transition, and I’m excited to have an opportunity to continue to serve my home.”
Conley is a board of trustee for the Wimberley Independent School District. He was previously the Hays County Precinct 3 Commissioner. He is a founding member of the team that created the GSMP as well as a former board chairman. He is currently a principal for American Structurepoint.
A statement from the GSMP said that both he and American Structurepoint see this as a way to “positively contribute back to the community and assist the Partnership through this important transition.”
“The climate of innovation is as strong as ever in Central Texas,” Conley said. “I look forward to championing the commitment of GSMP to regional partnership and strong but smart economic development.”
Chairman of the GSMP Board Scott Burton said the future is bright for investors and that the GSMP is more determined than ever to be forward-thinking about prudent economic collaboration in both Hays and Caldwell counties.
“The foundation of GSMP is all about partnership,” Burton said. “It is the glue that has served as a catalyst for economic development in our region and made the Texas Innovation Corridor one of the fastest growing regions in the United States.”
