Monday, Oct. 18 was Recognition of Women in Military Service day. Women were limited to working as cooks, seamstresses, and nurses in the U.S. military during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. As of the twentieth Century, there are no more restrictions on what positions women can or cannot hold.
Maurice T. Suttles VFW Post 3413 honored Women in the Military, including Commander Stephanie Brown, with a cake during their Friday morning breakfast.
