LifeLongLearning San Marcos has a couple of new virtual programs on offer for the Spring, First in the lineup is the new Auto/Biography Book Club, meeting via Zoom from 2 to 3:30 p.m. every third Wednesday of each month.

This free book club will explore the lives of well-known people from all walks of life. Participants my drop in for any of the following sessions: May 17 – “Barbara Jordan: American Hero” by Mary Beth Rogers June 21 – “The Extraordinary Life of an Ordinary Man” by Paul Newman July 19 – “Carl Sagan: A Biography,”

by Ray Spangenburg and Kit Moser.

LifeLongLearning also presents the Texas and Western Literature Book Club every second Wednesday of each month. This free discussion group meets via Zoon from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

In this course, participants will read and discuss old and new fiction and non-fiction about the American West. The group administrator will add context by weaving in interesting “historical tidbits” as well as background information on each author. This group will meet Wednesday, June 14 to discuss Wallace Stegner’s “Angle of Repose.”
