San Marcos Academy is still looking for their first win of the season as the Bears fell to the Sugar Land Logos Prep Lions 44-30.

Coming off a tough loss against rival UTSA, the Bobcats were back on the field as Texas State prepared for their home opener against Jackson State.

Texas State delivered one of their biggest wins of the season as the Bobcats knocked off the previously undefeated Houston Cougars, 1-0.

Texas State will have to wait another year to break the UTSA Curse as the Bobcats fell to the Roadrunners 20-13 in the fifth edition of the I-35 Rivalry.

San Marcos wasn’t able to get in rhythm Friday.

It was a rough start to the Bobcat Classic as the Texas State Bobcats fell to the Southeastern Louisiana Lions in a thrilling five set loss 3-2 (21-25, 25-23, 2826, 19-25, 15-6).

I was talking with a few personal trainers and athletic trainers during the past few weeks and the discussion was about the different types of injuries that are caused by participating in sports and activities. It seems each sport has one or two types of injuries that occur more frequently than the usual sprained ankle injury. And some injuries do not happen in sports. I have had flute players and accountants with injuries that required exercises to correct the problem. It just seems that if a person participates in an activity that is repetitive an injury may occur over time. It may start out at a young age with the so-called teenage slouch that will lead to problems as they reach adulthood.

It was a historic win for Head Coach Steve Holeman as Texas State defeated the Texas Southern Tigers 4-0 for Holeman’s 300th career win.

San Marcos is aiming for their first win of the season as the Rattlers host the San Antonio Wagner Thunderbirds in the first home game of the year.

Texas State racked up a number of weekly awards from the Sun Belt Conference following a successful weekend.
