Sights and Sounds arrives for 2023 holiday season

The Southside Community Center is looking for the support of the community to help some of its neighbors this holiday season.

Texas State University, Saleen Performance and Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area have partnered to bring a nocost, cutting-edge training program in composite materials to students at the university's Round Rock Campus.

A man was taken into custody late Monday by members of the San Marcos Police Department SWAT unit following a call at approximately 4:30 p.m. to the department that an individual had been shot in the vicinity of an apartment complex on El Rio Street.

The Youth Service Bureau– a local after school and summer program that provides free opportunities for youth from ages 11 to 17–is hoping to recruit additional kids for the program.

Ryan Anderson, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the Department of Agricultural Sciences at Texas State University, and Bradley Borges, a senior lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Sciences, have received a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture to promote STEM-based careers in the welding industry among high school students.
