Ismail Mahdi was named a second team All-American as an all-purpose player by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) as the organization announced its full list of 2023 All-Americans on Monday.

Following the District 4 City Council Runoff Election held on Saturday, Dec. 9, unofficial results indicate Dr. Lauralee Harris was elected to serve in District 4, receiving 65.45% of the vote, according to a press release.

Alyssa Ramirez, has officially entered the race for Hays County Commissioner, Precinct 1, by filing for the Democratic primary on Dec. 7, according to a press release.

Two central Texas aquatic species have avoided listing on the Endangered Species Act: the Texas Troglobitic Water Slater–a small subterranean crustacean that lives deep within the Edwards Aquifer in Hays County and the Mimic Cavesnail–a small freshwater snail that lives in the Edwards Aquifer in Bexar County.
