SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Police say a man was fatally shot by police in San Antonio after he shot an officer with a police stun gun.
Police Chief William McManus says officers investigating reports of a suspicious man taking a license plate off a car Wednesday, shot the man as he resisted being handcuffed.
No names have been released.
McManus says as officers were trying to handcuff he man, he resisted and was shot with a stun gun by one officer, then wrestled the stun gun from the officer and shot an officer, who was not seriously injured.
McManus says the man then reached into his pocket where a knife was later found and a second officer fatally shot him.
