This letter is to honor the memory of Marcelino Rivas, Jr. I read with sadness his obituary in the San Marcos Daily Record this morning and was immediately flooded with sweet memories of days and nights spent at our Little League field. Watching Marcelino encourage, teach and support our young baseball players was both a joy and a comfort to me and my husband Jim. Marcelino loved the boys and they loved him. He was a wonderful example of one who gives back to his community in the most important of ways. Thank you, Marcelino! You are fondly remembered.
