The San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter is promoting a special edition of Pets of the Week in hopes of adopting out the remaining adoptable cats from November’s massive animal cruelty seizure case near Buda.
Momo
This 5-year-old boy is a proper gentleman! Momo is a domestic short hair tabby and has such loving eyes. He’s a little shy at first, but once he trusts you, he warms right up!
Vern
Four-year-old Vern is still warming up, but is showing signs he’s a real sweetheart. Vern has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), which can only be spread from one cat to another through deep wounds or from mother to offspring. FIV cats can live completely normal lives, and can live with other non-FIV cats as long as they get along.
Georgina
Georgina loves attention! This 10-year-old girl will beg for pets; if you’re in the room she will meow until you give her chin a little scratch! Georgina has also tested positive for FIV.
Indigo
This bobtailed cat has such stunning green eyes! When 2-year-old Indigo came to our shelter, we thought she might be feral, but since November she has warmed right up and now allows us to give her love. Indigo has also tested positive for FIV.
The shelter is lowering the adoption fee to $1 for all of the remaining animals from the seizure in hopes of helping them find a forever home. All adoptions include the animal’s spay or neuter, microchip, rabies vaccination, kennel vaccinations and city license. For more information or to adopt one of the Pets of the Week, visit the shelter's website or contact Animal Services at 512-805-2650.
