At the Dec. 18 Commissioners Court meeting, outgoing Pct. 4 Commissioner Ray Whisenant and Executive Assistant Linda Kinney were honored by court members and gifted with clocks to help them keep time while retired.

Whisenant thanked the public for allowing him to serve and for their patience with him as he learned the commissioner’s role. He also thanked his wife and executive assistant for their help and support.

Pct. 1 Commissioner Debbie Gonzales Ingalsbe thanked Whisenant for his service and said, “It’s been an absolute pleasure working with you. We’re going to miss you, and we appreciate your honesty and integrity.”

“You’re going to remain my go-to for water issues,” Pct. Commissioner 2 Mark Jones said. “I appreciate your knowledge.”

“I’ve worked for a lot of people, and there hasn’t been a better person to have as a boss,” Kinney said.

Whisenant returned Kinney’s compliment, thanking Kinney for her help and calling out her diligence, loyalty, resourcefulness, and technological savvy. “I think the citizens of Hays County have been well-served by Linda,” he said.
