Guadalupe Y. Castillo passed away in San Marcos, Texas, on Monday, April 20, 2020, at the age of 75. She was born to Adolfo and Josefa Contreras Ybarra on March 29, 1945, in Martindale, Texas.
She was owner and operator of Cutting Corner Hair Salon and was a hairstylist for 51 years. She was a great mom, a loving wife, friend, a hard worker and a great cook.
Guadalupe was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Tomasa Rodriguez, Pomposa Villanueva, Rodriga Chapa and brother Julian Guerrero She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Joe S. Castillo, her sons Joe Castillo and Derwyn Castillo, daughter Lesley Castillo and husband Allen Gonzales, brothers Adolfo Ybarra, Pete Ybarra and sisters Inocenia Comacho and Dolores Y. Rodriguez, grandchildren Marissa Alton, Lauryn Castillo, Alyssa Castillo, Kaleb Gonzales, Landon Gonzales and Evan Gonzales, great-grandchild Jayden Alton as well as many friends.
A come and go visitation will be held at Pennington Funeral Home on Monday, April 27, 2020 from 4:00-8:00PM, with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00PM. Due to the current CDC guidelines and the City of San Marcos restrictions, we are limited to 10 people gathering at a time. We ask that when you enter for the visitation that you give your condolences to the family and exit expeditiously to keep the occupancy at or below the restriction limit.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Martindale, Texas, with burial following at Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Martindale, Texas. Pallbearers are Joe Castillo, Derwyn Castillo, John Castillo and Allen Gonzales
