A Texas State University fraternity has been suspended following a university investigation.
Pi Kappa Phi fraternity was suspended for a minimum of seven years after Texas State’s chapter was sued by a student for allegedly attacking him.
“The administrative review of Pi Kappa Phi has been completed,” the university said in a statement. “The fraternity has been suspended for a minimum of seven years beginning Jan. 27, 2020.”
A lawsuit filed in state district court in Travis County was filed by Texas State student Nikolas Panagiotopoulos, which states he was walking on North Comanche Street in San Marcos at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 27 when he walked by the front of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity.
Cellphone video showed a large group attacking Panagiotopoulos. The attack left Panagiotopoulos with a skull fracture and traumatic brain injury.
