San Marcos Academy rides four-game win streak into Senior Night

The San Marcos Academy boys' soccer team won a pair of road matches to extend their winning streak to four.

The Bears began Friday night at New Braunfels Christian Academy, defeating the the Wildcats, 9-2. Junior Muassiri Almeida earned a hat trick with three goals. The visitors also got two scores each from freshman Malachi Deoliveira and sophomore Inaki Infante, as well as one goal each from junior Evan Schawe and senior Micah Burton. Infante led the team with two assists, followed by Deoliveira and senior Ayo Adenkunle with one apiece. Burton also had a strong night in front of the goal, saving five of the opponents' seven shots on goal.

SMA continued its hot streak at Our Lady of the Hills in Kerrville, shutting out the Hawks, 7-0.

Infante and Schawe registered two goals each while Almeida, senior Jesse Osimetha and junior Sean Feigl all added one. Deoliveira, junior Manuel Kagoya and sophomore Aidan Chambers dished out two assists each. Burton saved all four of the hosts' shots on goal.

The Bears will hope to keep the streak going on Thursday, when they matchup with Boerne Geneva inside McCoy-Remme Athletic Complex at 6 p.m.
