Texas State was picked second in the Sun Belt West Division in the preseason coaches poll, the conference announced Wednesday.
The Bobcats received 55 points in the poll, finishing behind Louisiana, who received 71 points. Coastal Carolina was unanimously selected as the winner of the East Division.
Last year, the maroon and gold were picked third in the West. Texas State finished the season with a 30-28-1 record, going 16-14 in league play and taking second in the division. The team went on to fall to Troy in the Sun Belt semifinals.
The Bobcats begin the 2019 season on Feb. 15 in the Texas State Tournament against Utah at 6 p.m. inside Bobcat Ballpark.
