The Texas State men’s and women’s track and field teams both took third place at the Mark Colligan Memorial in Lincoln, Nebraska on Saturday.
Redshirt senior sprinter Tramesha Hardy picked up three first-place finishes at the meet. The two-time Sun Belt Indoor Outstanding Track Athlete of the Year ran the sixth-fastest time in program history in the 60-meter dash at 7.44 seconds. It’s also the best time in the Sun Belt in the event. The Houston native later picked up a win in the 200 meters at 23.71 seconds.
Hardy was also a member of the 4x400-meter relay team that took home gold medals, along with senior Dawnshae Evans, freshman Sadi Giles and junior Breonna Hall. The foursome crossed the finish line in 3:50.30.
On the men’s side, freshman Pedro Osorio Lopez clocked in at 4:14.72 in the mile to take third place at the meet and sixth place in school history. Sophomore Brandon Busby and senior T’Mond Johnson each took a fourth-place finish on Saturday. Busby registered 18.52 meters in the weight throw and Johnson gained 18.19 meters in the shot put.
In total, Texas State picked up 26 top-10 Sun Belt finishes at Nebraska. The Bobcats have just one meet remaining on the schedule — the Jaguar Invitational in Birmingham Alabama on Sunday — before the Sun Belt Indoor Championships on February 18.
