Born on January 19, 1927, in San Marcos; Clarence W. “Shorty” Grumbles passed away peacefully at his home on the San Marcos River on December 30, 2019, at the age of 92.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Norvell; his son, Douglas Grumbles and his grandson Logan Bond. He is survived by his son, Russell Grumbles (Jeannette), daughters Deborah Roecker (Bill), Donna Bond (Mark) and Laura Grumbles Mariano. Shorty has seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 4, at 2:00 p.m. with viewing at 1:00 p.m. at Staples United Methodist Church - 9760 FM 621 in Staples, Texas. Interment at the Staples Cemetery on Park Ave.
