Rohde recommended for honor

The Texas State University Center for International Studies Honorary Professors Naming Committee has recommended that Dr. Rodney E. Rohde, be awarded the title of Honorary Professor of International Studies, and

The Texas State University Center for International Studies Honorary Professors Naming Committee has recommended that Dr. Rodney E. Rohde, be awarded the title of Honorary Professor of International Studies, and the Office of the Provost has approved.

This title is for life and the Center for International Studies will seek Dr. Rohde’s advice on potential joint research projects and to participate on panel discussions, conferences, workshops, and seminars on international topics related to his field.

A total of only 16 faculty received this honor. Rohde is professor and chair of the @TXST_CLS Program, as well as the Research Dean for the College of Health Professions.

Rohde recently was named a Global Scholar by the Global Citizenship Alliance and a Visiting Scholar at UT Austin. #globalization #international #innovation

Rohde is a proud 1985 Smithville High School Alumni and three time Texas State University Alumni. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David G. Rohde of Smithville.

He is married to another SHS alumni, Bonnie Lee Rohde (Class of 90) and they have two children, Haley and Landry. His paternal grandmother, Irene Preuss Rohde, obtained her teaching certificate from the Normal School (now Texas State) in 1921 and his daughter Haley is a 2018, 3rd generation alumni.
