William Frank Thomson, Sr. was born on September 7, 1927 in Hubbard, TX to Linoel O. Thomson and Georgia Holleyman Thomson. He had one brother and one sister who preceded him in death. Frank married Jo Katherine Russell Thomson on March 9, 1947 in Fairfield, TX.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo, and his daughter, Jo Ellen Thomson Hopson Jumonville and is survived by his son, Frank Thomson, Jr., daughter-in-law, Billie Nan Thomson; grandson, Bill Hopson; granddaughters, Holly Hopson, Michelle Jumonville Brooks, Bobbie Jo Moore, Jennie Claice, Julie Arevalo and many great-grandchildren.
Frank served as a naval signalman during WWII and served aboard the USS Lunga Point, a small aircraft carrier. After the war, he returned to Texas and became a civil service employee with the US Air Force where he met and married Jo Katherine Thomson. He retired from the USAF as Asst. Director of Accounting and Finance in 1973 and the moved to Wimberley. In Wimberley, Frank was active in his church, Chapel in the Hills, and served on the Woodcreek City Counsel and WPOA. Frank was lovingly known as “Paw Paw” by all who knew him and will be missed dearly.
