CTMC employees wed in chapel

Last Friday afternoon, Central Texas Medical Center hosted a special wedding between two of its employees — Kean Anderson and Destiny Sanchez.

“Weddings are always such a special time,” CTMC President/CEO Anthony Stahl said. “I am so glad we could help provide two of our CTMC family members with a day they can cherish for the rest of their lives.”

In lieu of going to the courthouse to make it official, the CTMC/Live Oak Health Partners family banded together to give the couple an intimate wedding. The ceremony took place in the CTMC Chapel, which was decorated with draped white linens and floral arrangements. A cellist played as the bride walked down the aisle to her beaming groom. Afterwards, a small reception with a cake was held in the CTMC lobby.

“What I was most looking forward to was filling the hospital with joy,” said Nahum Melendez, MDiv, CTMC’s Spiritual Care director, who officiated the ceremony. “CTMC is not just a place for healing and sickness, but also a place for joy and new beginnings.”

The newlyweds, who have been together for several years, both work for CTMC. Sanchez is a Certified Medical Assistant with Live Oak Health Partners working with Dr. Jamilla Stone and Megan Juarez, NP, and Anderson has served as a CTMC security officer for the past two years.
