NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (AP) — A Texas sheriff’s deputy has died after he appeared to suffer a medical problem that led to a three-vehicle wreck northeast of San Antonio.
The Comal County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Friday that deputy Ray Horn was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Sheriff’s officials say Horn, an 11-year veteran of the department, was in his patrol car traveling home after work Thursday when he suffered the medical episode.
His car then struck a vehicle before a third vehicle became involved in the wreck. A person in one of the other vehicles was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The crash is being investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
