BUNA (AP) — Authorities say a woman was stranded for two days in an amphibious all-terrain vehicle in an East Texas river after it got stuck and her 79-year-old husband died after being swept away.
Various agencies responded Friday morning to the area near Buna after a person spotted the eight-wheeler ATV in the Neches River and called 911. Authorities said she been there since Wednesday.
Jasper County Sheriff Mitchel Newman said the woman was found in the ATV and the man’s body was found near the bank.
Newman says the woman didn’t appear to have any life-threatening injuries.
