Texas State, along with five individual Bobcats, received Academic Awards on Thursday from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The women’s team received All-Academic status for the first time since 2015 with a 3.01 GPA. It’s the fifth time under head coach Jody Stewart that a Texas State team was recognized with the honor.
Seniors Kyle Denomme, T’Mond Johnson and Kylah Smith, as well as junior Ben Collerton and sophomore Brandon Busby all received All-Academic individual laurels. Denomme and Johnson both graduated this spring, the latter earning the accolade three times in his collegiate career. It’s the second time Collerton and Smith have each won the award.
