Our beloved Katherine Arcillia Vest-Morgan., age 30, resident of San Marcos, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 25, 2019.
Katherine Arcillia Vest Morgan was born on April 27, 1989, in San Marcos, Texas. Arcillia was a loving daughter, granddaughter, niece, and wife. She had a heart full of love, life, and compassion for others. Arcillia loved simplicity and she was a naturalist. She found beauty in all things. She loved growing her own succulents and making arrangements. She was a child at heart and still hula hooped and danced to music.
My wife, Katherine, was a beautiful soul who touched the lives of everyone she met. Her big beautiful smile lit up the room and was infectiously contagious as she was always happy. She would sing smile and dance from the time she woke up until well past bedtime. She always found joy in the little things and lifted the spirits of those around her. She enjoyed taking trips into nature for exploration, aquatic, and cave adventures. God got another angel who may be gone but will never be forgotten.
At the age of four (4) she attended Wonderland School until the 5th grade. She attended the San Marcos Baptist Academy beginning from the 6th grade to the 12th grade. Arcillia graduated in 2007 from San Marcos Baptist Academy (Academy). Arcillia received a Christian education at both, Wonderland and the Academy, and continued her religious education at Immaculate Heart of Mary attending CCD classes and later taught as a teacher CCD classes.
Arcillia graduated from Texas State University in May 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in GIS (Geographic Information System). She was an intern in the Spring of 2011 at Banks Consulting where she then earned a full-time employment position as a GIS Analyst. Arcillia was a cartographer designing maps for oil, gas and water business’ entrepreneurs. She also performed geographic remote sensing satellite data designing maps and advising entrepreneurs on drilling and costs. Moral objections performed to Mother Earth ultimately led to her separation with the industry. Witnessing the destruction of nature with man-made equipment and the damage caused by “fracking,” her moral obligation resulted in her resignation.
In the Fall of 2007, while attending Texas State University Arcillia met Zackery Morgan, whom she would later marry on January 29, 2015. While attending college and working at Papa Johns she was passing flyers door-to-door and met another “gentleman,” her dog, who she adopted and named Carlos Santana. Carlos was the love of her life, best friend, and her service dog.
Arcillia traveled to Paris where she visited Norte Dame, Arch de Triumph and many major historical sites. In Colorado she skied as a beginner, enjoyed the snowy mountains, and the beauty of nature. In New Mexico she loved hiking the mountains, the dessert because of the succulents, and watching hot air balloons.
Arcillia, as my daughter, your early departure has left me with a broken heart that will never heal. Your tragic- sudden death has left me with many unanswered questions. I wish you could have continued your earthly journey. But God had other plans for you. You were blessed for his calling and I should be full of joy that he was thinking of you on this date, June 25, 2019. God thinking of how special you were is what will eventually slowly ease the pain and aid in healing this tormented-broken heart of mine. I know that I too, was blessed because he saw what we all saw in you: love, laughter, your smile, and compassion for others. You will be greatly missed by your grandparents, family, and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 4yrs., Zackery Morgan; mother, Angela Juarez; mother in law, DeeAnne Morgan; grandparents, Santos & Julia Juarez; uncles, Ignacio Juarez, and Antonio Juarez; aunt, Grace Juarez; brother in law, Hank Morgan; sister in law, Brandi Morgan; service dog, Carlos Santana; and with many more loving family and friends.
