Centro Cultural hosts Youth Art Exhibit
In honor of National Youth Art Month, Centro Cultural Hispano’s ArtSpace program held a youth art exhibit on March 30. Along with works of ArtSpace — Centro’s free art education program students — artworks by Crossroads Transitional Program and Wonderland School students were on display at the Centro gallery. More than 130 artworks in different mediums lined the walls of Centro and will be up until April 15.

“March is designated as the National Youth Art Month, a special occasion to encourage and celebrate budding artists,” ArtSpace Coordinator Debangana Banerjee said. “We have a few special items today. We made two photo booths in front of room number five. Also children, there is an art station for you to make some art and pin it and become part of the exhibit, if you want. Room number five is dedicated to all art teachers. You can write a thank you note to your teachers there.”
Banerjee thanked the San Marcos Arts Commission, the city of San Marcos, The Burdine Johnson Foundation, the ArtSpace teachers volunteering their time and Texas State University Art Education faculty members for all of their support.
