Air Force JROTC completes HQ Annual Inspection

SAN MARCOS HIGH SCHOOL

The Cadets of TX-921 Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps at San Marcos High School received their Unit Evaluation from the Headquarters Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Regional Director from Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama recently.

The Regional Director, Tonia Howze, evaluated Cadets on Dress and Appearance, Drill and Ceremonies, the 30 Step Drill Sequence, Community Service and Cadet Leadership Operations.

TX-921 AFJROTC earned an overall rating of 87.5%.

Howze identified Cadets Lyric Adams and Jason Gaddy as HQ AFJROTC Top Performers. Top Performers are rated in the Top 1% of the nation in AFJROTC.

Additionally, the Re- gional Director identified nine distinct areas at TX921 as displaying HQ AFJROTC Best Practices. These areas, within Cadet Leadership Operations, will be published in the AFJROTC national database and distributed world-wide for emulation. Cadets were recognized for their work with Valentines for Veterans, Hays County Food Bank, Kissing Tree Veterans Group, and their partnership with the city of San Marcos and Wreaths Across America events.

Cadet Robert Gabrian, Corps Commander, was also applauded for his stellar Leadership Team and their work leading up to the inspection.

Cadets aren’t merely sitting back on their laurels. Next up is the Memorial Bataan March in San Marcos on March 22 at 7 a.m.
