The Rattlers closed out the regular season with a win, beating the New Braunfels Canyon Cougars 2-1 last Friday.
With the win, San Marcos enters the postseason with a 8-12-2 overall record and a 6-4-2 district record.
Jamie Delgado and Alvaro Garcia both scored goals for the Rattlers in the first half while the defense kept Canyon off the scoreboard in the second half.
The postseason berth marks the first time in over 30 years the Rattlers have made the playoffs in consecutive seasons.
After placing fourth in district to earn the final playoff seat, San Marcos will go into the 6A Division II playoffs to take on the Del Rio Rams in the Bi-District round. The Rams are the district champions of District 30 finishing with a 13-4-2 record and a 9-2-1 district record.
Kickoff for San Marcos- Del Rio is set for 8 p.m. Thursday at Hondo High School.
