The Rattlers fell at home to the Cibolo Steele Knights 3-1.
San Marcos’ record drops to 7-11-2 overall and their district record to 5-4-2.
The Knights took an early 2-0 lead in the first half before going up 3-0 against the Rattlers in the second half.
San Marcos added their lone goal of the second half to avoid the shutout but were unable to complete the comeback.
Despite the loss, the Rattlers are still in play to place second in district and claim the top seed in the Division II playoff bracket. San Marcos remains in fourth place in District 29 with 17 points, trailing both Johnson and Clemens who are at 18 points. District leader CIbolo Steele sits in first place with 21 points.
The Rattlers will play their final regular season game Friday at New Braunfels Canyon. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
