Tantra will be hosting a reception for “The Invasive Species” by Mathew Jobson from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight. The artwork will be on display and available for purchase until May 1. This series contains abstract, colorful landscapes featuring local invasive species. Black History Month is still underway; there will be two different lectures on Saturday at the Cepha’s House, located at 217 Martin Luther King Drive, hosted by the Calaboose African American History Museum. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. there will be a lecture on Contributions to the Building Trades by Enslaved Craftsmen by Benjamin George and from 1 to 3 p.m. a lecture on A Concise History of the African Methodist Episcopal Church by Reverend Sheila Sidbury.
