WIMBERLEY PLAYERS’ “CRIMES OF THE HEART”

If you’ve never been to the Wimberley Playhouse before, now is the time to go. Opening this weekend, the Wimberley Players will present the Southern Gothic comedy “Crimes of the Heart” starting on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Written by Beth Henley and directed by Tysha Calhoun, this play brings three sisters together for a family reunion in their home state of Mississippi. Though they struggle to navigate their family’s almost stifling dysfunction, each sister brings her own humor and vulnerability to the table they share, giving audiences the chance to look at the complexities of their own lives. The Wimberley Playhouse is a uniquely intimate venue in that it enables audience members to be part of the play itself. The players are solid professionals, so seeing a show in their company is a night well spent. Tickets are $30 for adults and $20 for students with ID and available at Wimberleyplayers. org. “Crimes of the Heart” will run Friday, Feb. 21 through March 16.
