Empowering Women as Leaders – Austin Chapter, in partnership with Texas State University, is excited to host its Second Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Friday, April 11, at the beautiful Kissing Tree Golf Course in San Marcos. With an 8 a.m. shotgun start and scramble format, the tournament promises a fun-filled day on the green, for men and women golfers alike, all for a great cause.
Proceeds from the tournament are directed to the protected scholarship account to support EWL’s mission of providing scholarships and mentorship to women 23 years and older in financial need who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Texas State University. EWL refers to its scholarship recipients as “STARs” — a reflection of their bright futures and the transformative opportunities that education provides. Since its inception in January 2022, EWL Austin has awarded 14 scholarships, empowering women to achieve their academic and professional goals. Six of these scholars have already graduated, thanks in part to the financial and mentorship support provided through the program.
Last year’s inaugural tournament raised over $15,000, and this year’s event aims to build on that success with expanded sponsorship and participation opportunities.
